Essie Fall 2016

The second temperatures dip below 70 degrees I'm off to the nearest nail salon to swap my summer shades for deep reds, grays and taupe colors. I'm not proud of this...but I'm the girl at the nail salon who brings three colors to the tech because I can't quite decide. In the interest of saving time I've started to browse the internet before my appointment to discover which shades to look out for at the salon.

This week I came across Essie's new fall collection that was too good not to share. The Fall 2016 collection titled "Fall for Japanese" is the perfect palette to transition from summer to fall. My favorites are go go geisha, playing koi and maki me happy, But, let's be honest...they are all amazing.

Burgundy Shoes for Fall

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

We had our first peak into fall weather on Sunday, and it was amazing. I am so thankful for the beautiful summer that we had this year, but I am ready for fall in the form of chunky sweaters, leggings and dark nail polish. Also, I'm not upset about hanging my sandals up in favor of comfortable booties and dreamy flats.

While perusing the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this year, I couldn't help but notice this rich burgundy shade popping up in the shoe department. While this is a shade I typically reserve for a lip or nail color, I'm loving the thought of rocking this color with black skinnies.

PSA - these flats don't require ANY breaking in! I own them in two colors and highly suggest you pick them up.

What are your thoughts on this trend for fall?

Summer Proof Makeup

Summer is in full-swing here in Chicago and let me tell you… it is HOT outside. By no means am I complaining, as it always feels like winter is right around the corner, but I forgot what it feels like to literally feel like you’re melting outside. Through trial and error, I’ve finally nailed down my no-frills summer makeup routine and am excited to share it with you!

Dr. Jart BB Cream
NARS Illuminator

I keep things very minimal on my face in the summer. I’ve tried a number of tinted moisturizers, BB creams and foundations, but I always come back to Dr. Jart’s BB cream. There is no other product out there that provides the same even coverage while still feeling super light on your skin. As an added bonus, it’s a moisturizer, sunscreen (SPF 45), and treatment serum all-in-one. I apply NARS' illuminator on the apples of my cheeks back towards the top of my hear for a subtle glow. To get the perfect airbrush finish I apply everything with my beauty blender. (tip: you can scoop up this set for a great price at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale right now!)

Two Faced Natural Eye Palette
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner
Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara

I recently discovered Two Faced’s Neutral Palette and can guarantee that this is the one palette that I will re-purchase over and over again. The shades are beautiful and can easy be applied for a day to night look.

What are your summer-must haves for your beauty routine?
