off the runway

Attending NYFW is one of my all time goals. Sadly, I was not in New York this past week, but lucky for me designers often stream their shows. I’ve been spotting some trends that I’m not willing to wait until Fall 2013 to try, and neither should you! Screen Shot 2013-02-15 at 3.06.51 PM

Leather: Leather is something that I've never tried before and can honestly say I’ve been a little nervous to go there. But, after seeing these collections leather has never looked so fiercely chic. I’ll think I’ll ease into the trend with these J.Crew pixie pants.

Wine stained lips: I’ve seen this trend being called a number of things from berry, to oxblood, to noir. Personally, I think it mimics the look your lips have after enjoying a nice deep red wine, a very seductive and dramatic look at that. I’d recommend traveling to your local Sephora to test out the best shade for your skin tone. I’m thinking this Nars pair or a less expensive, Revlon shade would work best with my skin.

Black & White: Black and White had a presence on the Spring 2013 runways and has been popping up all over the red carpet this season. I absolutely love the stark contrast and to really tie the look together, a strong lip is my recommendation. While I'm dying to splurge with this Alexander Wang dress, I know a couple pieces in my closet that I should try first. I’m thinking about trying this look out as early as this weekend, stay tuned for next week to see how it goes!
