I hate to say it, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the looks from last night's Oscar show. It seems as if everyone was ready for award season to be over and they were just going through the motions. Regardless, there were a few looks that I loved, thought were decent, and many that I absolutely loathed. However, in the spirit of being positive I've decided to include three of each.
Best Dressed: Stacy Keilber in Naeem Khan // Charlize Theron in Dior Couture // Kerry Washington in Mui Mui
Stacy Keibler has been slacking this award season, I mean if I had George Clooney as my permanent accessory I wouldn't bother too much about what I was wearing either. But, she really went for it this Sunday. I absolutely LOVE it. Very modern flapper.
Charlieze Theron looked incredibly fierce and statue-esque. I find it pretty ironic that when Anne Hathaway wore this very similar Chanel gown, she looked like a fourteen year old boy. Yet, Charlize in this white peplum with the pixie cut
Kerry Washington brought some much needed color to this red carpet. I wish she would have added some color to the lip but otherwise this gown is perfection.
Mediocre Dressed: Jennifer Lawerence in Dior Haute Couture // Giuliana Rancic in Rafael Cennamo // Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive
Loved the potential of Jennifer Lawrence's dress but think it was definitely missing something. I thought the backwards necklace was fabulous, however would have loved it on a plunging deep back. Regardless, JLaw's hilarious and relatable personality makes me think she can do no wrong.
Giuliana Rancic's new hair style was so shocking and amazing! I love love love how natural it looks. The black gown looked gorgeous on her but it was definitely a safe route as she decided to focus on the new hair.
This is my favorite look from Jessica Chastain this season. Thankfully she went with a bold lip with this otherwise washed out color palette.
Worst Dressed: Jennifer Anniston in Valentino Resort // Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille // Anne Hathaway in Prada
So many to chose from this year... Jennifer Anniston will always be one of my favorite celebrities. She is definitely the girl next door. While I love the dress, and love her...the combination was disastrous. You can tell that she's not even excited about it with the shrugged shoulders and awkward pose.
Zoe Saldana is usually someone you can count on as a risk taker on the red carpet. This look was particularly horrifying for me. The belt was the first thing to throw me off, but looking closer those shoes and earrings made it ten times worse.
Anne Hathaway...what happend to you! She used to be someone I was looking forward to seeing on the red carpet and now her timid style and demeanor drive me insane. This Prada gown looks like a 90s homecoming dress and somehow it looks unflattering on her barely there frame. Horrible on all accounts.
That concludes my picks! Who made your best dressed list this year?
