I'm sure you've been able to tell from my posts lately that I've been looking forward to this year's derby festivities for some time now. With this year being our first year attending the Oaks I thought I'd dedicate today's weekend roundup post to our Kentucky Oak's fashion. If your new to the Kentucky Derby, I would highly recommend attending the Kentucky Oaks which is the day before the derby next year. The crowds are much more manageable, and it just so happened that we had perfect weather on Friday while Saturday was not so great.
I went with this J.Crew dress for the day because the official color of the Oaks is pink. Steve rocked a brooks brother's blazer, vineyard vines bow-tie, and a j.crew shirt and pants. Since I was going to be on my feet for a good amount of time, I went with my Calvin Klein wedges which are super comfortable.
For my accessories, I needed to find something that would match my hat and tie the whole look together. Thankfully, Francescas's had a statement necklace (similar here) in the perfect shade of peachy pink. To top it all off I added a little sparkle to my outfit in the form of my favorite J.Crew link bracelet.
