Sometimes it's great to just take a pause and reflect. This past weekend was perfect for that. It's been awhile since Steve and I have had a free weekend and we took full advantage of having zero commitments. Here's a snippet of what my weekend looked like, spending the majority of the time in Louisville and coming home on Monday just in time for my guilty pleasure, the Bachelorette.
We started the weekend off at one of our favorite bars in Louisville called Baxters, where they play live music every Friday and Saturday. Obviously Steve and I need to work on taking "selflies". Other weekend activities included Sunday Funday at Churchill Downs, watching a few races and drinking peach infused mint juleps - a new favorite! We also went to a local brewery called Apocalypse Brew Works for the first time. There were people from all walks of life there and we enjoyed watching all of the dogs play and sparking conversations with the people around us. We love trying new beer and our favorites were the watermelon crack and the fallout dust which has a peppery flavor, very interesting! As the weekend came to a close I filled out my Bachelorette bracket that the girls and I are participating in at work and watched the premier. The Bachelor/Bachelorette is oddly addicting and I can't help but watch season after season. I think it's going to be one drama filled season! But, aren't they all?
