Steve and I have never been very big on Valentines Day. Our birthday's are right around Christmas and by the time Valentines's Day comes around a nice dinner out or a heart shaped pizza and a night in is the extent of our celebrations. Lou malnati's heart shaped pizzas are AMAZING by the way.
Valentine's Day brings back memories of spending the day with my single girl friends throughout college. One of us always happened to be newly single (read: swearing off boys) and it was our mission to celebrate our friendships, treat ourselves to mani/pedis, and indulge in a bottle of wine, or two. Now that we've grown up, and just about everyone is married (yikes!) I like to think of Valentine's Day as a way to celebrate being a woman and use it as an excuse to treat myself to something girly. Whether that be a champagne scented candle, new lipstick or even a water bottle with a cute heart on it, it's nice to celebrate just being you once in awhile.
Cheers to all my gals! I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day this weekend and remember to treat yourself. :)
